ALLISON STEVENS, MS, RD, LD

Chef Allison is a food, nutrition & culinary expert and founder of Healthy Living, Healthy Flavors, LLC and Austin Wellness Chefs.

Allison’s background in the culinary arts includes work at premier health spas, including Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires and Champneys in Tring, England.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University and continuously jumps at the chance to expand her culinary skills: whether hands-on cooking lessons during a trip to Italy or exchanging favorite recipes with friends and colleagues. Her real passion is her work as a personal chef, helping clients achieve their health goals through diet without sacrificing texture or taste.

Allison has a strong foundation of nutrition knowledge and believes that fresh, healthy foods can deliver taste and satisfaction. Her undergrad studies were in Culinary Nutrition. She then completed a 2-year internship at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA to become a registered dietitian.  She also earned a Master’s degree in Nutrition Communications from Tufts University’s School of Nutrition Science and Policy. She keeps up-to-date on the latest in nutrition research and uses this knowledge in recipe and meal plan development, but always keeping taste and flavor as the top priority!

Through her work at Healthy Living, Healthy Flavors, Allison works with both individual clients as well as companies to help people eat healthier, better tasting food. She works with individual clients doing nutrition makeovers and one-on-one cooking instruction and grocery store tours.  Consulting work includes spokesperson work, corporate wellness, freelance writing, nutrient analysis and recipe development. She currently sits on the Nutrition Advisory Board for Daisy brand cottage cheese and does consulting work with leading public relations and corporate wellness companies. She is also a regular contributor to the American Institute for Cancer Research newsletter.

Allison is an active member in many leading food, nutrition and professional development organizations, click here to see a list of organizations in which she is involved.

Allison credits her energy and zest for life to her dedication to staying active & enjoying good food.  She is a devout yogi and loves anything that gets her outdoors, including hiking the Greenbelt, spending time on Lake Travis, regular retreats to Colorado, scuba diving and skiing.  Spending time with family and friends, preferably enjoying good food and wine, is always a top priority.  Allison is also an avid traveler and draws culinary inspiration from each trip; recent adventures include Hawaii, Japan and South America and frequent trips to Colorado, California and her home state of Kansas.
